Austria
- DSG Ferlach Spielefest (DSG Ferlach Game Festival) - DSG Ferlach
The football club organizes a so-called “Spielefest”, a Games Festival for kids from the region in the South of Austria (Carinthia). 10 workshop stations have to be completed successfully by each participant, one is a fairplay workshop station organized by fairplay-VIDC. A focus is on the involvement of unaccompanied minor refugees of the nearby refugee home and to engage them directly in the organisation of the Games Festival. Moreover, the young refugees should become part of the football club. More than 15 kids will get involved.
- Vernetzungstreffen Sport Welcomes Refugees (Network Meeting Sport Welcomes Refugees) - fairplay initiative
At the new stadium, SK Rapid Vienna will host the National Networking Meeting of the “Sport Welcomes Refugees” project, which brings together informal sport initiatives working with refugees and mainstream sport institutions in Austria, including the national FA and the professional football league Bundesliga.

Workshop about sport, diversity and anti-discrimination for youth with a focus on theoretical background on asylum, discrimination and intercultural communication.
- Rugby Opens Borders Training - Rugby Union Donau Wien
A free and open rugby training session for beginners will be offered in Vienna. The training session will be followed by a get together with food and drinks (free for participants), where participants can meet and exchange with young Austrian rugby players while sharing a meal. Furthermore, there will be a short workshop about sports and personal development.
- Volleyball Tournament „New Start“ - Association „Young Afghans – New Start in Austria“
The sport and cultural asssociation „Young Afghans – New Start in Austria“ will organize their first volleyball tournament for youth and adults in the context of the European Week of Sport.
Hungary
- Mahatma Gandhi Human Rights Organization (MGHRO, Hungary)
2 days European Week of Sport event in Hungary (September 21-22) The event will take place at a music and sport primary school sporting ground. Around 30 refugees are being involved. MGHRO is organizing the event together with a local music and sport primary school in Budapest. The school has long history of working with refugees, migrants and minorities. Invitations were sent to local organizations. Activities planned for the two day event include football tournaments, table tennis, yoga practice, and mini marathon. The targeted age group is between 12 and 20 years. Participants will be grouped into different age groups and will include mixed teams of boys and girls. The Hungarian Red Cross will also take part in the event. They will be providing first aid services during the sport activities, if needed.
Germany
- Bouledozer e.V. (Berlin)
Under the motto „Boule is cool“ a boule workshop and a boule tournement will be organised. Refugees already engaged in the club are participating in the event as volunteers. The aim is to present boule as a sport and the club as a possibility to engage and get in touch with other members.The local refugee home will be involved as well.
- SV Rot-Weiß Viktoria Mitte 08 e.V. (Berlin-Mitte)
The football club organized an opening event at the beginning of the club season. Refugees from so-called “welcoming classes” of the nearby school will be introduced in the club: They are guided thriugh the club facilities and will meet with club coaches and players. In the follow-up a workshop will be run for the young refugees to inform them about possibilities of engagement in the club.
- Kite and Board Association e.V. (Berlin)
Tour de Tempelhof: Skating and Kiting-Parcours around Tempelhofer Feld. Tempelhof is a former airport in the city centre of Berlin, now a public park. At Tempelhofer Feld there are several reception centres for refugees. Kids of these reception centres are introduced to kitesurfing, while they visit 4 different stations. The sport club presents itself with its possibilities to get involved as volunteers and to participate in the club as athletes.
- Sport Welcomes Refugees - National Meeting - Camino
On 27 September the German SWR partner organization will bring together in Berlin several mainstream sport organizationsand refugees. Participants (refugees and non-refugee club members) will pair in tandems in order to exchange expiriences and good practice.
Finland
- Tervakoski Respect Refugees Event – Tervakoski PaTo
On 23 September the local sport club of the small town of Tervakoski (3000 people) will organize a sport day free of charge for migrants and refugees coming from the nearby towns. For example football games and other new games such as mölkky, petanque, steet tennis and freezbee golf will be introduced to the newly-arrived migrants. There will also be some grilling and sauna. The event takes place on the Tervakoski sport field. With the partnering Red Cross, we will introduce a refugee board game to find out from adults and youth about their feeling regarding racism and discrimination towards migrants and refugees. The game is called Rasismi 24 – Lautapeli.
- EWoS Respect Refugees Game - Helsinki Diplomatic Sport
Football game organized between Tervakoski Old Boys (+35 years) and the International migrant club of Helsinki. The aim of the game is to bring together native Finns and refugees. They will have the opportunity to play together and create relationship and understanding. They will exchange their views about their situation and the reason why they are coming to Finland.
