Sports for Refugees: New Self-Assessment Tool for Sports Clubs

An online tools shows how interventions of sport clubs should be tailored in order to fully include newly arrived migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.

The recent migration movements are changing European societies not only as a whole, but also in its social subunits. As a result, new challenges arise for those working in different social spheres, such as sport clubs and youth organisations.

But how should interventions of sport clubs and other organisations be tailored in order to fully include newly arrived migrants, refugees and asylum seekers?

The ERASMUS+ project “Sport Welcomes Refugees”, implemented by partners of the Sport Inclusion Network (SPIN), has developed experience-based quality criteria which will help to self-assess a project and develop its quality in order to gain more impact.

As a practical device project partner Camino has now created an online self-assessment tool based on these quality criteria. The self-assessment tool has been designed to help sports clubs or organizations such as refugee organizations, youth clubs, and other groups working with refugees in sports to evaluate their work and to provide advise how to improve their efforts.

You will find the online tool following this link

The duration for the assessment will be around 10 mins. It consists of 8 quality criteria with sub questions. Answers and data will not be recorded.
