Other Council of Europe Initiatives on Media and Diversity
The MARS Online Resource Centre includes other Council of Europe activities on media diversity and non-discrimination, in particular:
- the “Speak out against discrimination!” Campaign and its outputs, including the Diversity, Discrimination & Journalism Training toolbox, recommendations on media diversity and non-discrimination and the Tell us about Diversity guidelines
- the ongoing EU/Council of Europe MEDIANE - Media in Europe for Diversity Inclusiveness - Programme, which will develop a media-diversity-monitoring-and-action tool - the Media Index for Diversity Inclusiveness (provisional denomination).
The 2011-12 joint EU / CoE MARS Programme has been based on:
- over 1.000 participants contributing to the 3 action fields of the Programme (Media production, journalism training and editorial management), in particular during the 3 European and 15 National Encounters,
- more than 30 Media Work Exchanges in the area of media production and journalism training,
- the development of the MARS Resource Centre collecting all its outputs and productions in one unique space.
