Save the date: 13th International Youth Football Tournament “Vienna meets Balkan"

23 - 25 May 2015 @ SC Suessenbrunn

For the 13th time, the Vienna based initiative FairPlay. Different Colours. One Game organises this intercultural event, in cooperation with the Balkan Alpe Adria Project (BAAP), hosted this year by the local club SC Suessenbrunn club in Vienna.

From May 24th to 25th, as part of this sport event, local migrants clubs, and Viennese football clubs meet their international guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatian, Serbia, Montenegro, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Hungary in order to display some fine football skills. For the U10 tournament a total of 18 teams will participate. Vienna is located in the center of Europe and thus represents an ideal venue for an inclusive football event like this. The opening ceremony will take place in the evening on May 23 in Vienna Prater, with regional politicians from participating countries attending.

Fringe programme

The first day of the tournament will be marked by a cross-cultural fringe programme, where children and young people will have the opportunity to participate in various workshops. Moreover, there will be games, music and sports, associated with valuable educational and recreational elements.

The "Vienna meets Balkan" youth tournament is partly funded by the City of Vienna and supported by the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) and the Sports Ministry within the work programme of the FairPlay initiative.
The youth tournament is part of the international "Football Unites the Alps, Adriatic and the Balkans"-project, which is carried out in cooperation with UEFA, the football associations of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro.
